How can I build my own serial camera / webcam? As also use Visual Basic to see the video?

I am doing a project connecting a PC to a remote control car using the fiber optic cable. I'm using RS-232 serial port and device I / O. My problem is I want to know how add a camera in the car. Where can I learn how to build this system? I have to connect the camera to the serial port. And I also have to build an interface Using Visual Basic to view video capture. Is there anyway to do this? Where can I get the kind of camera?

This likely not work. A bit rate connection RS232c modern standards is very low. According to Wiki, the standard does not define the bit rate for transmission, although the rule says that is intended rates slightly less than 20,000 bits per second. Many modern devices can exceed this speed (38,400 and 57,600 bits / s is common, and 115,200 and 230,400 bits / s making occasional appearances) while still using RS-232 compatible signal levels. Once again, thanks to Wiki USB supports three data types. * A low-speed rate of 1.5 Mbit / s (183 KiB / s) which is mostly used for Human Interface Devices (HID) such as keyboards, mice and joysticks. * A rate full speed of 12 Mbit / s (1.4 MB / s). Full Speed was the fastest rate before the USB 2.0 specification and many devices back to full speed. Full Speed devices divide the USB bandwidth between them on the basis of "first come, first served" and not infrequently runs out of bandwidth with several asynchronous devices. All USB Hubs support Full Speed. USB (1) * A Hi-Speed device speed of 480 Mbit / s (57 MB / s). USB (2) This can be seen, USB 1, even at its slowest rate (1.5 Mb / s) is 6.5x faster than full speed RS232 of 230,400 bits / s, and rates are 2000x faster USB2.
