How can I convert my 8mm video tape clip media player?
I have personal 8mm video that I took my video camera, I want to create a media clip of parts of images so that you can use it to make a video with pictures and music. Any idea?
Short answer: It is necessary to (1) a video card or USB accessory PC or other peripheral that can have a video source as input (2) an audio card input capacity (# 1 and this can be combined), and (3) software that converts audio / video input in a format that the PC will recognize (MPEG, Quicktime, WMV, etc..) Connect the camcorder to video and audio recording software to boot, hit "play" in your camcorder, and recording away. The slightly longer version: The audio card is easy – most everyone has one. The video input can be a bit difficult. You can get a dedicated PCI / PCI-e which is responsible for video input. You can get a video card with built-in video input. You can also obtain a USB device that gives you the ability to video input. The cost depends on the brand, included software and the ability – the cheaper product does not process the video stream directly, just let the software (and CPU) do, so if you have an old computer, video recording can be slow. Software is not too hard. Usually, to get something included with the video input device. WTH I've only had experience with Ulead software, and it works decently. I think I will stop here. There are some decent guides on the web that describe how to make effective the video recording, and talk about what formats are good, what products work better, etc. Hopefully this will give a good start.
